THE PROMOTER: The promoter is Douglas Laing & Co, and having its registered office at Douglas House, 19 Mossland Road, Glasgow, Scotland, G52 4XZ.


THESE TERMS AND PRIVACY POLICY: By entering this competition, entrants confirm they have read, understand and agree that these terms and the Douglas Laing & Co Privacy Policy (and the way we process personal data) are binding to them. Douglas Laing & Co reserves the right to amend these terms; to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend this competition at any time.


ELIGIBILITY: This competition is only open to individuals who are :

  • 18 years or older and are residents of the United Kingdom and EU
  • 21 years or older and residents in the United States.
To be eligible, the shipping address for the winning entry must be in the UK, EU or the United States. Ineligible entries (howsoever received) will be discarded. The competition is not open to any employees (and their immediate family) of the promoter or any of its associated companies. Douglas Laing & Co. reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) at any time and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who, or any entry which, it believes has breached any of these terms, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or improper conduct which may undermine the fair and proper conduct of this competition.


ENTRY/COMPETITION PERIOD: This competition opens at 09:00:00 UK time on 10th January 2024 and closes at 23:59:59 UK time on 31st March 2024. 


HOW TO ENTER: To enter, eligible individuals must subscribe to the Douglas Laing & Co's email newsletter via the Facebook Leads form or via the website form. Multiple entries are permitted!


WINNER: 1 winner will be selected at random out of all qualifying entries shortly after the competition period. The selection of the winner made will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.


THE PRIZE: The winner will receive a bottle of the XOP Rare Speyside's Finest 50 Years Old worth £2500. The prize is provided by the promoter and it is strictly non-negotiable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for any equivalent cash value, cash alternative, or for other items. The promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value in the event the prize is not available for reasons outside of the promoter’s control. 


UK SHIPPING ONLY: The prize can only be delivered to a valid address within the United Kingdom, EU or United States provided by the prize recipient. 


CLAIMING THE PRIZE: The winner will be contacted as soon as practicable upon selection. Douglas Laing & Co will make reasonable efforts to contact the winners via email as soon as practicable. If any winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed the prize within 5 days of Douglas Laing & Co contacting them, Douglas Laing & Co reserves the right to offer the prize to another eligible entrant. Douglas Laing & Co cannot accept any responsibility if any winner is unable to take up the prize or fails to claim the prize within the time limit as set out above. Douglas Laing & Co may contact the winners for feedback in respect of the competition and/or prize and may use any feedback provided when announcing the results and promoting the competition or subsequent competitions.


LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: The promoter will not be responsible for any entries that are delayed or lost for any reason (for example, due to technical error  or connection failure). The promoter will not be responsible for delivery of the prize to any incorrect address. The promoter will not be able to ship the prize to any winner who is not able to provide a valid shipping address in the United Kingdom, in which circumstances the promoter will offer the prize to another eligible entrant picked at random. Insofar as is permitted by law, the promoter, its agents, employees, and/or representatives shall in no circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any entrant who participates in the competition and/or the winner who claim(s) the prize for any loss, damage, personal injury or death whatsoever and howsoever caused, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any direct, indirect or consequential losses arising out of or in connection with their participation in this competition, except where it is caused by the negligence of the promoter, its agents, employees, and/or authorised representatives. Competition entrants’ statutory rights are not affected.
