What makes a great whisky even greater? The cask. Whisky spends years maturing in oak barrels, absorbing the character of the wood and what once lived in it. Cask finishing is the art of taking an already-mature spirit and giving it a second life - maturing it further in a different type of barrel (like a Sherry, Rum, or Tequila cask).
