Island Malt Scotch Whisky
Prise open a rock oyster and you’d be lucky indeed to find a pearl. The real treasure though is the hidden, tasty delicacy inside, rich with the flavours of the sea. Bottled at 46.8% alcohol strength and traditionally without colouring or chill-filtration, this Small Batch bottling has a truly maritime and oceanic character of sea-salt, sweet peat, smoke, honey and pepper. Containing the finest Malt Whiskies from Scotland’s Whisky islands, including those distilled on Islay, Arran, Orkney and Jura, it’s no wonder our Master Blender Fred Laing says “If I could select just one dram to transport the Whisky enthusiast to the Islands of Scotland, it would be this Rock Oyster.”
NOSE: Anticipate wave soaked rocks and a salty oceanic, fresh influence. A hint of peat smoke, and an enticing sweetness.
PALATE: An initially subtle palate that carries soft and rather sweet peat paralleled with smoke, honey, damp ash and develops with liquorice and late pepper.
FINISH: The maritime is neatly replicated on the long, moreish finish.

REMARKABLE REGIONAL MALTS
The pedants among you might be aware that "The Islands" is not officially considered one of the Scotch Whisky Regions, as categorised by the Scotch Whisky Association. Whilst we won't dispute that, we do believe that Whisky from the Islands is unique, and so Rock Oyster was created in homage of the sea and its wonderful little pockets of Whisky-producing land. We believe Rock Oyster captures the spirit of Island Whisky in all its salty, citrus, sweet peat and peppery glory.
Rock Oyster Bloody Joseph
You’ll have heard of a Bloody Mary, but what about a Bloody Joseph? In place of vodka, the Bloody Joseph is created with Rock Oyster Island Malt Scotch Whisky*, affording the cocktail a sweet and smoky kick. Just combine 5cl of Rock Oyster with a good quality tomato juice, a squeeze of lemon, a pinch of salt and as much hot sauce as you can handle.
*And with no booze at all, it can simply be called a “Bloody Shame”.
Rock Oyster Margarita
Create the ultimate seaside serve with 5cl Rock Oyster Island Malt, 3.5cl premium tequila, 2.5cl lime juice, salt & a wedge of lime.
1. Fill a shaker with ice & add the Rock Oyster, tequila & lime juice.
2. Shake until cold.
3. Strain into glass with half the rim damped with water, then dipped in salt & add lime wedge garnish.
Rock Oyster and Shellfish
The sea-salty character of the Rock Oyster spirit pairs perfectly with shellfish. Try adding a couple of drops of Rock Oyster to oysters, or pair a dram with a seafood platter. The maritime character of the spirit enhances the delicate, fresh flavours of the sea.
