Island Malt Scotch Whisky
Oysters - you either love them or loathe them but you'll be challenged not to fall in love with a Scottish Island. Bottled at 46.8% alcohol strength and traditionally without colouring or chill-filtration, this Small Batch bottling has a truly maritime and oceanic character of sea-salt, sweet peat, smoke, honey and pepper. Containing the finest Malt Whiskies from Scotland’s Whisky islands, including those distilled on Islay, Arran, Orkney and Jura, it’s no wonder our Master Blender Fred Laing says “If I could select just one dram to transport the Whisky enthusiast to the Islands of Scotland, it would be Rock Island.”
NOSE: Anticipate wave soaked rocks and a salty oceanic, fresh influence. A hint of peat smoke, and an enticing sweetness.
PALATE: An initially subtle palate that carries soft and rather sweet peat paralleled with smoke, honey, damp ash and develops with liquorice and late pepper.
FINISH: The maritime is neatly replicated on the long, moreish finish.

REMARKABLE REGIONAL MALTS
The pedants among you might be aware that "The Islands" is not officially considered one of the Scotch Whisky Regions, as categorised by the Scotch Whisky Association. Whilst we won't dispute that, we do believe that Whisky from the Islands is unique, and so Rock Island was created in homage of the sea and its wonderful little pockets of Whisky-producing land. We believe Rock Island captures the spirit of Island Whisky in all its salty, citrus, sweet peat and peppery glory.
Rock Island Bloody Joseph
You’ll have heard of a Bloody Mary, but what about a Bloody Joseph? In place of vodka, the Bloody Joseph is created with Rock Island Malt Scotch Whisky*, affording the cocktail a sweet and smoky kick. Just combine 5cl of Rock Island with a good quality tomato juice, a squeeze of lemon, a pinch of salt and as much hot sauce as you can handle.
*And with no booze at all, it can simply be called a “Bloody Shame”.
As Natural As It Gets
We believe that the Rock Island, alongside the rest of the Remarkable Regional Malts should be presented as the distiller intended. For this reason, each of our Blended Malts are offered to you without chill-filtration or added colour.
Rock Island and Shellfish
The sea-salty character of the Rock Island spirit pairs perfectly with shellfish. Try adding a couple of drops of Rock Island to oysters, or pair a dram with a seafood platter. The maritime character of the spirit enhances the delicate, fresh flavours of the sea.
