The Teasmith | Premium Scottish Gin | Small Batch

Douglas Laing, independent Blenders, Bottlers and Distillers, has been a renowned name in the Whisky industry since 1948. With decades of experience and a constant drive to refine our processes, we have built a reputation for delivering consistently exceptional Whisky.

Adding ‘Distiller’ to the Douglas Laing title marked a defining moment in our history, following the purchase of Strathearn Distillery in the Highlands. Here, we took a uniquely hands-on approach to crafting Strathearn Highland Single Malt.

As purveyors of fine spirits, with a sharp eye for detail, the opportunity to purchase The Teasmith Gin was a natural fit – and one we couldn’t pass up. While Whisky will always be the beating heart of Douglas Laing, we are constantly driven by innovation and creativity, and this spirit led us to expand into the ever-evolving world of Gin.

Now, in 2025, we are proud to reintroduce The Teasmith Gin, carefully distilled at our very own Strathearn Distillery. Honouring the flavour profile the brand is known and loved for, this marks the next chapter for The Teasmith Gin under Douglas Laing’s craft and care.

The Teasmith Gin proudly re-launches its Premium Scottish Gin, crafted in small batches in the Scottish Highlands. Passion and provenance have guided the re-launch, all while preserving Teasmith’s heritage. The brand has undergone a full refresh, repositioning itself in the Premium Gin category with a bespoke new bottle design – created in-house – that brings its unique story to life, celebrating its origins, botanical selection, and exquisite flavour profile. While maintaining the original recipe and iconic logo, this re-launch combines tradition with elegance, offering Gin enthusiasts an experience that honours Teasmith's history while showcasing a bold new chapter.

Crafted using time-honoured distillation techniques in traditional copper Alembic stills, Teasmith undergoes a two-stage process. First, Sri Lankan tea leaves are steeped in alcohol and gently distilled, revealing notes of vanilla, soft orange sweetness, and exotic spice. The second distillation blends hand-selected botanicals—including juniper, liquorice root, orange peel, coriander, angelica root, and Grains of Paradise—vapour-infused to enhance the Gin’s refined character. The result is a balanced, complex spirit with a distinctive tea-inspired profile.

The Teasmith Gin delivers delicate vanilla and soft orange sweetness, complemented by hints of exotic spice and a smooth, aromatic finish. Perfect for classic cocktails such as the Last Word, Southside, White Lady, or Tuessetto, it also shines in a refreshing Teasmith & Tonic. Cocktail recipes can be found at teasmithgin.com.

Beyond producing a Gin of exceptional quality, The Teasmith is committed to supporting the Sri Lankan tea industry, recognising the dedication of those who harvest the unique tea leaves at its heart. Teasmith pledges to make a dedicated annual charitable donation, giving back to the communities that make our Gin possible.

The Teasmith Gin will be available across global markets, carrying a guided RRP of £29.99/€35.50.
