CLAN DENNY AAAAAhh the story of this brand!!! For one of our Taiwanese clients some years ago we had to develop a brand incorporating his Anglicised name – Dennis (he liked MacDennis!!) We put our foot down and insisted on something vaguely authentic that has now become CLAN DENNY, though Dennis did not become a client, alas!
CLAN DENNY MALT We still refer to this as a vatted malt, and will continue to do so until the law changes when we may have to refer to it as (horribly) “a blend of malts”. At that time we might even take the same line Prince did by printing “previously known as a vatted malt”. Politics apart we have chosen to vat (and name) the four Islay and four Speyside malts that we marry to make these two regional unchilled filtered beauties. We think the decanter is so attractive that we do not even gift box it and it has found an ever increasing and ready market around the world. No need to gild the lily!
